Add and arrange cabinets

Choose Add cabinet in the right-hand panel. Cabinets are always added to the selected wall, so click a wall in the plan first.

Add a preset

Presets are grouped Base, Wall, Tall, Corner and Appliance. Each shows its default size as W×H×D. Click one and it drops into the next free space on the selected wall, sized to fit.

Base2 door · 3 drawer · 2 drawer (pot) · 1 drawer / 2 door · sink · waste pull-out
Wall2 door · 1 door · open shelf · over fridge/range · extractor / range hood
Tallpantry · broom/utility · wall oven
Cornerblind corner base · blind corner wall

Notes on a few:

  • Base — sink: has a false front over two doors and no shelf.
  • Base — waste pull-out: one full-height front on a short (8 in) box that the bins sit in.
  • Wall — over fridge/range: a short wall cabinet mounted high.
  • Wall — extractor / range hood: machined for a hood insert, with a duct route you choose in the editor.
  • Tall — wall oven: has an appliance cutout section sized for a standard oven. Adjust it to the oven's install sheet.

Fill a whole wall at once

Under Fill wall:

  • Base run: a sink, a bin and pot drawers, then door cabinets to fill the rest.
  • Wall run: wall cabinets along the wall.

It skips spaces that already have cabinets, so you can place the key cabinets first (say, the sink under the window) and let Fill wall do the rest. Treat the result as a starting point and adjust it.

Centre a cabinet on a window

If the selected wall has a window, a Place next cabinet box appears:

  1. Choose Centred on window N.
  2. Click the preset (e.g. Base — sink).

If something is already in that spot, the cabinet goes to the nearest free space.

A custom size

Open Custom size…, set Name, Type, Width / Leg A, Height, Depth and Toe kick, then click Add cabinet. For a blind corner, also choose the Blind side.

Move a cabinet

  • Drag it along the wall in the Plan or Front view. It snaps flush to neighbours and to the wall ends.
  • Type a gap: select the cabinet and set Gap to neighbour → Left / Right in the Selected panel. You can also click a gap dimension in the Front view.

A position you type stays where you put it, and other cabinets move to make room. A position you drag can shift slightly to snap into place.

To move a cabinet to another wall or island, open its editor, choose the wall at the bottom and click Move here. Duplicate puts a copy on the chosen wall. Save any other edits first: Move and Duplicate close the editor without saving them.

Resize a cabinet

In the Front view, drag a cabinet's side edge.

  • Edge flush against a neighbour: the joint between them moves. One cabinet grows by exactly what the other shrinks, and the overall run stays the same length. This is the fastest way to balance two cabinets.
  • Free edge: only that cabinet changes, up to the next obstacle.

Exact sizes go in the editor (Edit face & details).

Wall cabinet height

In the Front view, wall cabinets show three vertical dimensions: to the floor, to the countertop and to the ceiling. Click one to type a new value.

Blind corners

A blind corner cabinet is only blind once there's a cabinet on the return wall in front of it. Until then Cabinet Run asks:

"…has nothing on the return wall yet, so it isn't blind. Add the cabinet that turns the corner?"

Choose Add base — 2 door, Pick another type or Not now.

Once the corner is closed, Cabinet Run sets the door setback from the neighbouring cabinet's depth plus its door thickness, plus a small clearance, so the doors don't hit each other.

Unplaced cabinets

A cabinet that lost its wall (for example, the wall was deleted) is listed under Unplaced cabinets. Select a wall and click Place on selected wall.

Numbering

Cabinets are numbered #1, #2… per room in the order you add them. The same numbers appear on the cut list and nest sheets, so a part can be traced back to its cabinet.

Delete

Select a cabinet, then Delete cabinet in the Selected panel. ↶ Undo brings it back.
